Evil Over Easy: skel-monsta
For my first guest on Evil Over Easy, where we bring some of gaming's most loathsome, cruel, sadistic, torturous, fiendish, ornery and just plain ol' mean icons into the spotlight, we have Skel-monsta, a cute little critter from the Bubble bobble universe that falls into the category of time released, obnoxiously frustrating pains in the ass. My kind of folk.
According to BubblebobbleHQ, an informative yet dead site, "Skel-Monsta appears if you spend too long on a level. He is indestructible but is limited in his movement - he can only move horizontally or vertically, and after moving either way for any distance he has to pause before he can move again. The length of the pause shortens the longer he has been in play. This makes him fairly easy to avoid but the only way to defeat him is to clear the level of all other monsters, or get a player with temporary invincibility to touch him." ...unlike many such devices that are completely invincible, placed in game to squeeze the quarters out of your pockets. Nice.
You know when the annoying alarm sounds, that you better kick it into high gear or scramble to avoid an almost certain demise. And, it's been lucky enough to have some iterations make it as far as being a boss. Bad to tha bone indeed.next! Now calm down.
